The chamber choir amaryllis_berlin was founded by the musical director Uta von Willert and singers together. Since 2023 we‘ve dedicated ourselves to choral music from the Renaissance to classical modernism and contemporary works.

We meet weekly for full-choir rehearsals under the skilled and experienced leadership of Uta. In addition, separate vocal-group sessions, as well as rehearsal days and weekends, give us the time to fine-tune our sound. Our weekly rehearsals are not only an opportunity to grow musically, but also a time for community and exchange. Respect and discrimination-sensitive interactions are our focus: each individual contributes to ensuring that our choir develops into a safe space for everyone.

As a queer choir, it is particularly important to us to be visible and to set an example for tolerance and diversity with our music. amaryllis_berlin will not only appear at our own concerts, but also take the stage at various choir events and festivals. What we have known for a long time will be clear to all who hear us on these occasions: singing makes you happy!
